Section 12 Doctor

£180 - £225 per assessment
We are seeking an experienced Section 12 Approved Doctor to undertake Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Form 4 assessments, including Mental Capacity Assessments, for adults in care homes and hospital settings.
This role is ideal for a doctor looking for flexible, autonomous work with a focus on high-quality, lawful decision-making and safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete DoLS Form 4 medical assessments
- Carry out and clearly document Mental Capacity Assessments
- Assess eligibility criteria for DoLS authorisations
- Liaise professionally with Best Interests Assessors, care providers, and local authorities
- Produce clear, timely, and legally robust reports
- Work in line with the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and current guidance
Essential Requirements:
- GMC registered medical practitioner
- Current Section 12(2) approval
- Sound knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS framework
- Strong assessment, documentation, and report-writing skills
- Ability to work independently and manage own caseload
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
